B.C. Motorcycle Training (BCMT) key requirements and booking terms & conditions:
Essential Requirements
- Documentation: You must present your UK driving licence and provide your National Insurance number before training begins.
- Vision & Language: You must be able to read a standard number plate from 20 metres (using glasses/contacts if necessary) and be able to speak and understand English.
- Conduct: Trainees must behave in a respectful & responsible manner or training may be terminated without refund.
- Attire: You must wear sturdy footwear (ankle protection, no steel toe caps) and suitable legwear (jeans are the minimum; no leggings or tracksuits). BCMT can provide a helmet, jacket, and gloves.
- Safety: If using “Own Bike” it must comply with all legal requirements & proof must be shown prior to the vehicle being used. Trainees are responsible for their own safety and agree that all training will be at their own risk. The training group staff cannot be responsible for any loss, damage or injury.
- Knowledge: A good working knowledge of the Highway Code is required. Inexperienced riders are strongly encouraged to complete the Ride free e-learning course before their training day. https://www.safedrivingforlife.info/ridefree/
Course Logistics & Fees
- Start Times: CBT begins at 08:45, while DAS lessons start at 09:00.
- CBT Booking: A £100 non-refundable fee is required to reserve your place. The balance is due on the day.
- DAS Deposit: A £200 non-refundable deposit is required at the start of the course and will be deducted from your final lesson/test. Each lesson is payable on the day.
- Payment: Fees are to be paid in cash or by bank transfer only.
Cancellations & Liability
- Notice Period: You must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to postpone or cancel a lesson or CBT; otherwise, you will lose your booking fee or incur a late cancellation fee.
- Damage: You are liable for the first £250 of any damage caused to BCMT property or third parties.
Progress: For CBT, if you do not reach the required competency level for the road ride by 13:00, you will need to return on a different day for additional training at an extra cost. Your instructor will keep you informed of your progress throughout the training session
